This gorgeous wildflower field on Vancouver Island was the most magical spot for this couple’s maternity photography session! Not to mention the golden hour added a bit of romance to their session.  A year prior, almost to the date, we searched high and low for wildflower fields for A&G’s engagement and had no luck. For their engagement session we decided to meet inbetween Victoria and Ladysmith in Cowichan Bay. To make a long story short, the day ended up with a smashed phone, broken down car and a couple witch sightings… I am not even joking about this part, nor was I disappointed!  We didn’t even get to meet up for their engagement session, however I got a chance to check out Bright Angel Park and have a picnic with my partner and our baby.

Fastforward to a year later… we found our wildflower field and it was almost serendipitous.  I didn’t really have any clue where I was going for our session, although I knew it was going to be in Cowichan Bay on Vancouver Island.  When I plugged the location into my google maps and it didn’t even dawn on me until after our session ended… when driving there I would take a right off the highway for Bright Angel Park and a left (at the same intersection) to reach these amazing wildflower fields!! We have chatted about that hilarious day a few times because of all the interesting turn of events and how I had searched high and low looking for a wildflower field for them, a year prior. With no luck of finding one I randomly chose a park that I had never been to, not knowing this field was literally a left off the highway, instead of a right! I like to think that that field was waiting for us and is symbolic of the beautiful new life they are building xoxo
