So, 2020 isn’t going according to the plan! Holy shit, right?!Has anyone else been feeling overwhelmed, mad, sad, grateful, etc?! It seems to change every hour for me.  One minute I’m feeling grateful that I get to stay home with our toddler, and the next minute I want to cry, and the next I’m starving!  This is definitely a unique time as is trying to navigate it! Well, I’ve decided that I need to move on from the little pity party I’ve had and look to some solutions for how to make the show go on!  The reframe and motto I’ve adopted is “LETS DO THIS ANYWAY!!!” (in a safe manner of course!).  Let’s move toward solutions in more intimate and soulful way and still capture your love story!

I had a great chat with Barbara Densmore the other day and if you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting this amazing woman, she is a Celebrant and her ceremonies are like none other. You will laugh, cry and really hang on to her every word… she may even make you take a deep breath and hold onto the moment! We were throwing around ideas about how we can still help people celebrate their love this summer and she came up with the amazing idea of doing a wedding in a couple phases. This is where we started to think outside the box and turn toward solutions… like eloping!

Eloping gives you the freedom and flexibility that a larger ceremony just cannot do.  Think about it….you can do practically anything!  What does your favourite day look like?  What did you do on your first date?  What have you always wanted to do? Where is your special place?  What are the things you love to do together?  Like black and tans?  If you love kayaking, biking, drinking tea, take out pizza, hiking, not hiking at all, canoeing or having a picnic in the wood…you can add that into an elopement ceremony. So it can be much more than a simple “let’s make it legal in 2020” day…it can be a total adventure!  Which is a pretty cool thought given all the disappointments/challenges that this year has given us already. And it can be something sweet to remember while you plan for the wedding of your dreams with your friends and family next year.

Your wedding day can still be special despite those horrible words, co-vid nineteen (we aren’t allowed to say it in my house anymore haha)! It may be small but can be filled with so much more soul and intimacy. We can still celebrate your love this summer! It may be in a different way than you had imagined but let’s turn these crappy times into an even better memory for you and your partner! The options are literally endless so let’s move on from this “situation” together and create some truly amazing and special memories!  Love can and will prevail!

*Safe measures will always be taken. I have lenses that keep me a safe distance from you and your partner at all times! Your health is my main priority, celebrating your love is my second!
