Each and every wedding I photograph is authentic in it’s own way! Most of the weddings I shoot, I have never seen the venue or it is a backyard and I show up not knowing what to expect. That is half of the excitement for me as it indulges my creative side.  When I arrived at D and E’s ceremony spot at his parents place I was so amazed with how beautiful and well maintained the property was. I knew they were having the ceremony in his parent’s backyard however I never expected it to be so amazing! It was such an intimate setting, nestled on the edge of the forest with sunflowers scattered around the property. There were flowers everywhere and it was the type of place you can hear the birds chirp all day long!  Their arbor was made from cedar boughs and there were simple white candles sitting on tree stumps. It was such a simple yet elegant place for them to say their I do’s!  Definitely a dream spot for me to shoot at!

I am definitely drawn more to shooting outdoors with the lush greenery Vancouver Island has to offer. I love the rich tones I get from it, especially on a cloudy day. On D&E’s wedding day we were so lucky to have a beautiful overcast sky yet it was still a nice warm day! If only I could order those days from Mother Nature on every couple’s wedding day… I’m not even kidding 🙂

Congrats again D&E! You two are such amazing people and this is definitely reflected in your family and friend!  It was such a beauty day and I’m so honoured to have captured it for you 🙂
