Best of 2020 Vancouver Island Wedding Photography

My 2020 wedding photography season was quite a bit different this year, but definitely one of the best!  I got to document a whole lotta love and the show still went on!

2020 REFLECTIONS

As I finally take the time out of my schedule of toddler chasing, I sit down and reflect upon 2020 and well, I don’t even have to tell you or mention what a confusing and emotional rollercoaster ride that was!  On a positive note though, my 2020 photography season on Vancouver Island was more than ideal and for that I am truly thankful!

With 80% of my weddings and elopements rescheduling to 2021 due to restrictions etc, some fearless couples could simply not wait to tie the knot with their partner and celebrate with their loved ones!  So I wholeheartedly refuse to believe that 2020 was a complete bust!!

We still got to celebrate, laugh, dance, eat, hike and most importantly, I got to witness a whole lotta love! It was these small intimate micro weddings and elopements that put the smile back on my face and that reminded me that photography is my true sunshine and passion!  I am so thankful to have still been able to document love stories in 2020 and for the amazing indivuals and couples I got to work with!

A YEAR OF TRANSFORMATION

2020 was truly a year of transformation for both me and my business.  It allowed me to spend time with my toddler and watch him grow and flourish. I was able to expand our garden and spend most of our days outside in the sunshine.

Most of all it gave me the opportunity to really dive into my business to discover to create a clear(ish) goal and vision.  It gave me the opportunity to refine my style and really gave me a chance to dig deep into my depths to find my passion in photography again.  I have taken a couple photography courses and have really been working on refining my brand through education and finding my self worth in my business!

It has been an incredible journey and in that part I am thankful for the little world pause and slow-down from 2020.  It ended up being one of my best years as an elopement and wedding photographer, as it made me truly stop to appreciate the wonderful humans I get to work with!  I may have worked less, however I realized that it is as much about the art of photography, as it is the connections made with the people I photograph!

I do owe a lot of thanks and gratitude for my amazing clients and their willingness to work together to navigate these extraordinary times! Thank you xoxo
