Before I started photographing humans as a profession, my passion was to photograph wild flowers, many of which turned out to be weeds but that never seemed to bother me! I would lay down in the dirt with them and listen as the breeze would rustle through them and the tall grass. The bugs crawling all over me never bothered me much as I knew it was all part of a bigger system; Plus I have a weird obsession with bugs, especially ants!  Laying on the ground, in the dirt was my happy place. It was always an opportunity for me to create something beautiful and just for me.

Fastforward to documenting maternity sessions, it just seems suiting to pair the two together!  Once February hits on Vancouver Island, I know I only have a few more months to wait until all the wildflowers start to bloom and I get to create some art with beautiful mamas and their bellies/babes amongst the flowers!  Maternity sessions in the daisies (or other wildflowers) are so fulfilling to me and definitely one of my favorite things to photograph!
